• 40 minutes of steady state aerobics (TWICE as much exercise)
• 3 days per week
• In 15 weeks, they GAINED an average of 1lbs of fat
Group 2
• 20 minutes of high intensity interval training (at week one they did only 5 minutes)
• 3 days per week
• In 15 weeks, they lost an average of 5.5lbs of fat
Evidently in this research, the high-intensity interval training group lost the fat in half the time that the Aero group did their workout (20 mins vs 40mins). And the Aero team even gained fat!

Trainers are born with weighing scales on their hands. I have nothing against weighing scales, but if your fitness coach treats it like it’s the only tool capable of measuring and providing results… then he/she can easily run off with your dollar!
Fat calipers must be used to objectively quantify if you really lost the fat. Say, in weight training, you will notice that the scales aren’t going up, but your tops are turning into shift dresses, and your pants getting baggy each week. That’s because you gain more muscle mass! More muscle mass means you heighten your BMR, hence, more calories are burned!

Most trainers will recommend that you starve to death while you run your heart and lungs out. This is very unhealthy when in fact you need to fuel your body to sustain any activity, especially strenuous ones.
