5 min. Option: Smoothie

Contrary to popular belief, most smoothies are absolutely terrible for you – many of the commercially prepared ones have 80 to 100 grams of sugar!

Ingredients

1 cup fat-free FAGE yogurt 120 kcal
3 cups frozen fruit (I like mango-strawberry, others like banana-strawberry, you can do whatever makes you happy)
Strawberry-banana (1 banana + 2 cups frozen strawberries) -OR- 200 kcal
Mango-strawberry (1 cup mango + 2 cups frozen strawberries – I think that’s the best tasting ratio)
Splenda to taste (as we are making smoothies that WON’T make you fat, we are using actual fruit, not juice – juice has as much sugar as a regular soda, and it’s not “ok” because it’s “natural”, whatever the hell that means)
207 kcal
2-6 ice cubes
1/4 to 1/2 cup water
1 scoop or 20 grams vanilla protein powder (I believe the best – nutrition & taste – on the market is available at www.metabolicdrive.com and nowhere else) 100kcal

Nutrition Facts

1 serving, ~420kcal per smoothie

1 min. Option: Eggs and Fruit on the Run

I think the smoothie would be best for people who are driving, but here’s another option.

1 piece of fruit (banana in this case) 100 kcal

Nutrition Facts

1 serving, 240 kcal (more of a snack than break-fast, but something is better than nothing)
